Description

  • Lead, inspire, and grow a distributed team of engineers while fostering high trust and psychological safety.
  • Drive strategic improvements to the software engineering lifecycle and developer experience.
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve product quality through coaching on testing strategies and quality thinking.
  • Set architectural guardrails for test automation and delivery pipelines across the organization.
  • Work with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to prioritize roadmaps and execute a long-term strategy for product health and reliability.
  • Develop engineering talent through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of the Delivery Engineering team’s portfolio, ensuring internal solutions and frameworks are reliable and secure at scale.
  • Advocate for engineering best practices and explain the reasoning behind methodologies to stakeholders across the company.
  • Champion inclusive, async-first collaboration practices across distributed teams.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or in a formal people management role.
  • Deep expertise in software quality, QA, or SDET practices with a strong track record of improving testing standards.
  • Experience owning the health of CI/CD pipelines at a mid-sized SaaS company using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Extensive software development experience as an individual contributor or manager with a focus on quality and testability.
  • Proficiency with or ability to guide teams using Typescript, React, Python, and Django.
  • Experience supporting a large B2B SaaS product with modern testing methodologies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to handle tough conversations and complex situations.
  • Experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Vitest, Pytest, and Playwright.
  • High sense of ownership plus a collaborative, humble learner mindset.
  • Preferred: background in Product Management to support problem-solving and feature definition.
  • Preferred: experience supporting and scaling an engineering organization with a monolithic codebase.
  • Preferred: expertise in performance testing.
  • Preferred: experience evaluating and adopting new approaches to software engineering work, including agentic development.
  • Preferred: experience with GitHub Actions pipelines, deployment processes, and improving developer experience.
  • Preferred: understanding of Single Page Applications, micro front-end architectures, and CDNs.
