Description

  • Manage large, complex customer-facing projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Act as the primary delivery liaison between Canonical engineering teams and customers.
  • Coordinate delivery of Ubuntu images across robots, edge gateways, IoT devices, PCs, and automotive systems.
  • Work with engineering teams on custom board enablement and Ubuntu image delivery.
  • Assist in developing statements of work and project-specific plans and schedules.
  • Secure client agreement on schedules and defined work items.
  • Track scope, time, resource, and risk management to keep projects on target.
  • Drive technical issues to resolution and communicate status to clients, internal stakeholders, and management.
  • Manage third-party deliverables and coordinate with vendors, OEMs, ODMs, and IHVs.
  • Advocate appropriate Canonical technologies and support projects across multiple time zones, including non-standard hours as needed.

Requirements

  • Solid project management experience delivering engineering services to customers and managing software development teams and field engineers.
  • Extensive experience managing cross-cultural, multi-continent project resources, preferably across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
  • An educational degree, preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
  • Good knowledge of Linux, the wider open source software community, and computer architecture.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills in complex organizational environments.
  • PMP/PMI or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification preferred.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours in support of a worldwide sales and project team.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times per year for internal events.
