Description

  • Perform and direct complex HVAC design, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for large-scale buildings.
  • Work independently across mechanical disciplines and assist with plumbing and fire protection design as needed.
  • Oversee, guide, mentor, and provide technical leadership to designers and engineering staff.
  • Direct the work of less experienced staff, including annual performance review development and presentation.
  • Serve as a QAQC reviewer and independent reviewer for project deliverables.
  • Work with the Project Manager to develop and maintain work plans, labor plans, and deliverable schedules.
  • Interface with clients, architects, and other design team members and attend OAC meetings.
  • Prepare Revit/BIM models and construction drawings from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, review change orders, and support construction documents and site visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering required; ABET-accredited degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Current U.S. PE preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes.
  • Experience working independently in all mechanical disciplines with no oversight or guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with clients and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus required.
  • Must be a fully qualified professional able to work with a high degree of latitude and ambiguity.
