Description

  • Manage the critical path process across all technical and production phases from pre-design through project completion.
  • Lead engagement with the Office or Project Quality Leader to secure project support and quality oversight.
  • Develop and integrate all technical aspects of the work and translate them into instruments of service.
  • Work with the Project Manager to establish labor plans, deliverable schedules, and support project financial performance and contractual obligations.
  • Participate in project risk assessments, identify issues proactively, and help mitigate and resolve project risks.
  • Guide Project Architects in developing Project Quality Plans, milestone reviews, and technical charrettes.
  • Lead the documentation strategy for each phase and oversee drawing deliverables through the cartooning process.
  • Coordinate design aspirations with client goals, budget, schedule, and team collaboration.
  • Lead the translation of design intent through technical documentation and construction phases to project completion.
  • Integrate building performance and sustainable design goals into the overall design solution.
  • Monitor documentation quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Guide code analysis and compliance efforts, including life safety, building code, and energy code requirements.
  • Coordinate all disciplines to align with architectural design intent.
  • Collaborate with the Model Manager to monitor model quality, content, and deliverables.
  • Work with the Project Specification Writer to align contract documents, verify project manual content, and coordinate it with drawings.
  • Lead construction administration responsibilities, including timely responses to RFIs and submittals.
  • Monitor, train, and direct project team members with a focus on technical quality and process standards.
  • Support office quality reviews and broader quality efforts as needed.
  • Travel as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of related professional experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles in construction documentation on institutional and/or commercial projects.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a responsible role in construction administration on large institutional or commercial projects.
  • Experience with large, complex projects.
  • Current Architectural Registration in the United States is required.
  • CDT and LEED accreditation are preferred.
  • Demonstrated focus on quality.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strong client leadership skills.
  • Strong technical leadership skills for a production team.
  • Ability to lead and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Advanced knowledge in the discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
  • Professional business attire required for client meetings.
