Description

  • Directly manage a pod of engineers working on the Voice AI product, including inbound call handling, reservation booking and modification, service request creation, and intelligent call transfer.
  • Set a high standard as a hands-on individual contributor through strong code quality and delivery velocity.
  • Own the architecture and its evolution across telephony integrations, real-time AI components, and hospitality system integration points.
  • Drive improvements in call containment, transfer quality, latency, and cost-per-call by analyzing product and operational metrics.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to shape roadmap priorities and product decisions for the Voice AI surface area.
  • Mentor engineers, advise on technical execution, break down work, and assign tasks across the team.
  • Run pod-level processes autonomously and escalate issues appropriately when needed.
  • Participate in hiring and interviewing for the Voice AI team and the broader engineering organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading successful engineering teams.
  • Strong background in backend application development.
  • Hands-on experience building real-time or streaming systems, such as voice, audio, video, or low-latency event-driven services.
  • Demonstrated ability to ship high-quality products that operate reliably at scale.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and diligent work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build consensus and credibility on a diverse team.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to take ownership and accountability.
  • Bonus: experience with conversational AI, LLM agent frameworks such as LiveKit Agents or Pipecat, telephony such as Twilio or SIP, ASR/TTS providers such as Deepgram, ElevenLabs, or Cartesia, or evaluation/testing harnesses for agentic systems.
