Description

  • Provide technical direction and support during the development, construction, commissioning, and operation of renewable energy assets.
  • Ensure projects meet design standards and maintain high-quality engineering designs.
  • Collaborate with customers, utilities, AHJs, and third-party consultants on project design and engineering.
  • Deliver design, modeling, and technical support from initial customer solutions through project implementation and operation.
  • Model and optimize engineering designs to improve project outcomes.
  • Review engineering studies such as load flow and short circuit analyses.
  • Create networking designs for site communications that meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Develop preliminary one-line diagrams to show equipment sizing and interconnection topologies.
  • Provide technical support to the O&M team for operational systems.
  • Coordinate technical knowledge and project support across cross-functional teams and project phases.

Requirements

  • BSEE or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in power generation, including MV distribution systems.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the renewables and environment industry.
  • Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, codes, and standards.
  • Experience with battery storage systems (BESS), with or without paired PV projects.
  • Knowledge of interconnection application requirements across multiple ISOs.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency measures.
  • Experience with one or more energy generation technologies such as solar, wind, battery storage, geothermal, biomass, fuel cells, or EV charging.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously on deadline-driven projects and manage multiple projects, consulting engineers, vendors, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Professional Engineering license, EIT or PE track, field commissioning experience for distributed generation equipment, experience designing distributed generation or isochronous grids, and SCADA protections and controls experience.
