Description

  • Architect and develop large-scale BI and data platform solutions serving millions of users on AWS.
  • Lead the design and implementation of data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses for real-time and batch analytics.
  • Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions across data modeling, query optimization, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
  • Build and maintain backend services, ETL/ELT workflows, and front-end analytics applications.
  • Design efficient storage solutions across relational and non-relational databases to maximize performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain REST APIs and event-driven architectures for integration across data services and customer-facing applications.
  • Serve as technical lead and mentor, including architecture reviews, code reviews, and guidance on complex challenges.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analytics engineers, product managers, and DevOps to deliver BI solutions.
  • Establish engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards for data-intensive applications.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and on-call support for production environments.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics platforms in enterprise SaaS environments.
  • Deep expertise with AWS data and analytics services, including Athena, Redshift, Glue, S3, QuickSight, and Lake Formation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python for data processing, ETL/ELT development, and backend services, with experience in FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
  • Expert-level SQL skills, including complex query optimization, window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning across Redshift, PostgreSQL, and Athena.
  • Strong full-stack development experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks for dashboards and data visualization.
  • Experience with Apache Iceberg, Parquet, or similar columnar formats and modern data lake architectures.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling for OLTP and OLAP workloads, including dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and denormalization strategies.
  • Strong experience with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Windsurf.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Redshift, PostgreSQL, and Aurora, as well as non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, OpenSearch, and DocumentDB.
  • Experience designing scalable REST APIs, event-driven architectures with Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and SNS, and microservices patterns.
  • Experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform for infrastructure as code and deployment automation.
  • Strong background in data pipeline orchestration using AWS Step Functions, Glue workflows, or similar tools.
  • Proven track record of leading technical initiatives, mentoring senior engineers, and driving architectural decisions in distributed systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks such as pytest and Playwright, and DevOps practices for data platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in large-scale distributed data systems.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodology, with experience leading technical teams through the full development lifecycle.
  • Outstanding communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to switch technical stacks and domains as business needs change.
  • Preferred: Experience with QuickSight embedding, dashboard development, and custom analytics solutions.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance requirements such as GDPR and SOC2 in multi-tenant SaaS environments.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with machine learning workflows and integrating ML models into data pipelines.
  • Preferred: Experience with real-time streaming data processing using Kinesis, Kafka, or similar technologies.
  • Preferred: Contributions to open-source projects or technical thought leadership such as blog posts, conference talks, or patents.
  • Preferred: Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.
