Description

  • Partner with application development teams to provide database guidance, troubleshooting, and optimization for in-house applications.
  • Respond to database support requests and perform routine DBA operations such as monitoring availability, backups, user access management, and failover testing.
  • Document the database environment, including application and database dependencies, data dictionaries, and data mappings between source systems.
  • Review DDL and application code for database-related functionality and design implications.
  • Support software development and operations teams with database definitions, structure, long-range requirements, and security and integrity controls.
  • Design and implement new database-dependent applications with attention to migration downtime and resiliency.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues across database and application tiers in real time.
  • Collaborate with L1, L2, and L3 support teams to proactively identify and resolve incidents.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on Oracle database administration experience in a mission-critical 24x7 environment.
  • Software development experience with Java, React, TypeScript, Python, Node, Go, or similar languages.
  • Experience with full database lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, cloning, backups, and recovery.
  • Experience creating and maintaining an enterprise data dictionary.
  • Experience with ETL processes.
  • Understanding of Unix operating systems.
  • Experience with automated database deployment using Jenkins, Ansible, or similar tools (preferred).
  • MySQL database administration experience (preferred).
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with understanding of ITIL (preferred).
  • Experience managing Oracle EBS environments, including installation, patching, cloning, and performance tuning (preferred).
  • 4+ years of AWS experience designing and supporting hyperscale mission-critical database architecture (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience writing, profiling, and optimizing SQL queries for performance (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience creating and maintaining Entity Relationship Diagrams (preferred).
  • Understanding of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, modeling, and profiling (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Java, AWS Lambda, and development frameworks (preferred).
