Description

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and a rolling financial model based on actual results.
  • Deliver real-time visibility into burn, runway, and cash.
  • Set capital-allocation discipline with clear ROI for teams, initiatives, and investments.
  • Produce board-grade financial reporting, analysis, and financial hygiene.
  • Own revenue strategy end to end, including pricing, packaging, and monetization.
  • Build the upsell and expansion motion and revenue forecasting rigor.
  • Model marketplace unit economics and key metrics such as take rate, contribution margin, CAC:LTV, net revenue retention, and burn multiple.
  • Scale accounting operations, including close, controls, and systems, into a reliable function.
  • Establish financial controls, policies, audit readiness, and lead fundraising preparation.
  • Own investor and board relationships, reporting, materials, cap table, scenario modeling, and capital planning while partnering on People/HR, Legal, and broader G&A.

Requirements

  • 10+ years across finance and operations with senior leadership experience, such as VP of Finance, Head of Finance & Operations, or CFO-track roles at a high-growth startup.
  • Hands-on player-coach who can build models, forecasts, and board decks directly and work comfortably in the ledger.
  • Experience leading or being central to growth fundraising, including modeling, diligence, and investor/board management.
  • Command of marketplace or usage-based accounting, including gross-vs-net revenue treatment, revenue recognition, high-volume transaction reconciliation, and contractor/provider payouts.
  • Experience building and scaling an FP&A function and maturing finance operations into a rigorous, reliable engine.
  • Strong command of unit economics and marketplace metrics, plus revenue strategy across pricing, packaging, and expansion.
  • Operational breadth to own or partner across HR, Legal, and broader G&A.
  • Deep accounting fluency, with CPA or equivalent experience a plus, and a track record of clean, timely closes and sound controls.
  • A genuine strategic partner to founders who turns numbers into company-building decisions.
  • Bonus: experience in logistics, delivery, supply chain, or another operations-heavy marketplace.
