Description

Own the full website and CMS experience end to end, including information architecture, layout, frontend implementation, performance, accessibility, and ongoing quality.
Design and build a reusable component system that supports new pages, products, and content types while maintaining consistency and brand alignment.
Collaborate on the website stack, including framework, styling, build tooling, CI, hosting, analytics, and experimentation.
Improve CMS integration and publishing workflows by adding guardrails, governance, preview environments, validations, reusable modules, and publishing standards.
Translate Buildkite’s brand identity into a living web system through typography, motion, interaction patterns, theming, and responsive design.
Partner across the company to keep the web experience cohesive, compelling, and maintainable while aligning stakeholders.
Establish a sustainable operating model with monitoring, performance budgets, accessibility checks, search hygiene, documentation, and reporting.
Operate the website as a compounding system that strengthens craft, system consistency, performance, publishing, proof, and trust over time.
Represent Buildkite on the web with authority and taste, shaping what a high-quality modern web presence looks like for the company.

Requirements

Experience extending brand systems across a modern web presence.
Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar.
Strong frontend engineering background with frameworks such as Astro, Next, Tailwind, or equivalent.
Familiarity with DevTools and the DevOps ecosystem, with an understanding of what credibility looks like for technical audiences.
Proven ability to solve complex problems independently or collaboratively.
Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
High empathy and strong async collaboration instincts in a remote-first environment.
Experience with AWS S3, CDNs, Brotli, or modern web delivery infrastructure is a plus.
Familiarity with experimentation, analytics, and web performance tooling is a plus.
Deep understanding of CI concepts and modern developer workflows is a plus.
