Description

  • Lead complex investigations, statistical analyses, and multi-source data projects.
  • Write and optimize advanced SQL against large, messy, and complex datasets.
  • Guide analysts through query optimization, data modeling, data quality, and other technical challenges.
  • Build and maintain data models and pipelines with Data Engineering partners.
  • Apply experimentation, regression, cohort, and trend analysis to produce defensible conclusions.
  • Design dashboards and reporting frameworks, supplementing them with custom analyses when needed.
  • Set technical standards for code reviews, data quality, documentation, and analytical rigor.
  • Mentor analysts through hands-on collaboration and formally manage performance and growth when applicable.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches.
  • Present complex findings to senior stakeholders and own the analytics function’s technical roadmap.
  • Promote information security practices and assess risks to data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Ensure data handling complies with privacy standards, including GDPR and CCPA.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of hands-on data analysis experience with complex, high-volume datasets.
  • 2+ years leading or technically mentoring analysts.
  • Expert-level SQL, including window functions, query optimization, and large or poorly documented schemas.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouse or lakehouse platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Strong statistical knowledge covering experimentation design, hypothesis testing, regression, and correlation assessment.
  • Experience with Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or a comparable BI visualization tool.
  • Ability to independently solve ambiguous, multi-layered data problems end to end.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to senior, non-technical stakeholders.
  • Direct experience designing and analyzing A/B tests or experimentation frameworks preferred.
  • Exposure to schema design, ETL, data warehousing, and upstream data quality diagnosis preferred.
  • Experience formally managing analysts, including performance and development planning, preferred.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, information security, and data protection practices preferred.
