Description

  • Support multiple client projects through planning, coordination, and administrative support.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of public health programs, assessments, trainings, and evaluations.
  • Assist with grants management, including budgets, spending monitoring, work plans, and reporting.
  • Coordinate and facilitate public meetings, trainings, and community events, including scheduling, materials, and follow-up documentation.
  • Maintain organized records, data, and tracking systems for internal and client reporting.
  • Develop written deliverables such as summaries, reports, presentations, and communication materials.
  • Assist in preparing grant proposals and other funding-related documents.
  • Support coalition and partnership activities by managing communication and logistics among stakeholders.
  • Support substance use abatement strategies, including opioid settlement fund stewardship, community needs assessments, harm reduction programming, and linkage to care coordination.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and client service.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in applied public health, project coordination, or a related field.
  • 2+ years in a consulting firm environment preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field.
  • 1-4 years of client-facing experience.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse colleagues, clients, and community partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard project management tools.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Experience with public health accreditation, quality improvement, or performance management initiatives is desirable.
  • Experience supporting or leading community engagement, including partner mapping, outreach, and qualitative data collection.
  • Proven track record of facilitating meetings and stakeholder convenings.
  • Familiarity with open meeting law conventions.
  • Direct experience working with municipal, local, state, or federal stakeholders.
  • Experience working directly with municipalities or local health departments.
  • Experience in substance use, opioid abatement, harm reduction, treatment access, peer recovery, linkage to care, and/or tobacco control, including lived experience.
  • Strong technical writing skills for public-facing reports and presentations.
  • Alignment with BME Strategies’ shared values.
  • Previous business development experience, including sourcing new business, partner and client outreach, proposal writing, and budget or project scoping, preferred.
  • Familiarity with opioid settlement fund stewardship frameworks and allowable spending categories preferred.
  • Experience in substance use prevention, including youth prevention programming, school-based initiatives, or community-level prevention strategies preferred.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based prevention frameworks such as the Strategic Prevention Framework or Drug-Free Communities model preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with treatment providers, recovery community organizations, harm reduction programs, public health agencies, and/or law enforcement or criminal justice partners preferred.

  • Salary range of $79,040 to $112,320 annually.
