Description

  • Design end-to-end architectures for complex, scalable software systems in AWS.
  • Design low-latency services with explicit p95/p99 latency budgets and durable synchronous commits.
  • Architect audit and evidence systems using append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic replay.
  • Define fail-open, fail-closed, degraded-state, and outage-handling strategies.
  • Architect secure multi-tenant environments and evaluate tenancy tradeoffs.
  • Design scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations with external services.
  • Develop capacity models and AWS cost/performance projections using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Create architecture documentation, diagrams, and architectural decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions in client engineering and security reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Substantial experience architecting large, complex systems end-to-end.
  • Deep AWS experience designing low-latency service architectures.
  • Strong PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security experience at the data-modeling and architecture level.
  • Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack.
  • Expertise designing and building scalable RESTful APIs and service SDK integrations.
  • Experience with event-driven design, message queues, and caching strategies at scale.
  • Experience with secure multi-tenant architectures and compliance-sensitive or regulated domains preferred.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Experience establishing standards, mentoring teams, and communicating architecture decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to overlap US business hours, with strong ownership, problem-solving, technical leadership, attention to detail, and client focus.
