Description

  • Design and develop high-quality backend applications and low-latency API services in AWS.
  • Build scalable RESTful APIs and integrations with external services through SDKs.
  • Develop secure, multi-tenant environments using PostgreSQL or AuroraDB.
  • Write raw SQL and manage database schema migrations.
  • Contribute to frontend development with React when needed.
  • Create and maintain CI/CD applications and workflows.
  • Implement strong testing practices, including integration, real-database, failure-mode, and fault-injection testing.
  • Collaborate with clients and distributed team members on complex software projects.
  • Take ownership and accountability for deliverables while following engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional, backend-focused software development experience.
  • Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Experience building low-latency AWS services and scalable RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security.
  • Experience building secure multi-tenant environments and managing schema migrations with tools such as node-postgres or node-pg-migrate.
  • Professional experience with React and full-stack development.
  • Experience integrating external services through SDKs.
  • Experience working with AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • CI/CD creation and maintenance experience.
  • Experience working with large, complex systems and strong software testing practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Ability to overlap US business hours.
  • Preferred: experience with event-sourced or bitemporal data models, Fastify, Zod, AWS Fargate/ECS, or compliance-sensitive domains.
  • Strong ownership, problem-solving, attention to detail, client focus, and commitment to best practices.
