Description

  • Design, build, and own scalable data pipelines and ingestion processes using SQL, Python, dbt, and cloud-native tools.
  • Architect and implement batch, incremental, and change data capture (CDC) ELT/ETL pipelines.
  • Lead development of data models using dimensional modeling, Data Vault, or Lakehouse approaches.
  • Define data transformations, quality validations, and business rules.
  • Design and optimize Snowflake environments, including warehouse sizing, cost governance, storage standards, schema management, and performance tuning.
  • Integrate Snowflake with AWS, Azure, or GCP to deliver high-performance, cost-efficient solutions.
  • Lead pipeline orchestration using Airflow, dbt Cloud, or similar tools.
  • Establish data governance, access controls, and Snowflake-native security capabilities, including row-level security, dynamic masking, and data sharing.
  • Maintain data-quality standards, lineage documentation, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience; a strong professional track record may substitute for formal credentials.
  • Deep Snowflake expertise, including performance optimization, cost management, security features, and data architecture.
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one scripting language, preferably Python.
  • Experience building ELT/ETL pipelines using batch, incremental, and CDC patterns.
  • Knowledge of dimensional modeling, Data Vault, or Lakehouse data modeling approaches.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP in a data engineering context.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, Airflow, or dbt Cloud (preferred).
  • Knowledge of cloud data governance frameworks and security best practices (preferred).
  • Experience in a consultancy or multi-client environment (preferred).
  • Ability to build lasting client and team relationships.
