Description

  • Design sustainable infrastructure, microservice solutions, and robust production environments with engineering teams.
  • Own infrastructure initiative designs and specifications, translating them into executable team tasks.
  • Lead infrastructure projects spanning multiple engineering teams from planning through delivery.
  • Operate and maintain core Google Cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, databases, and cloud services.
  • Automate infrastructure and tooling to reduce manual operational work.
  • Monitor application performance and availability and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Review design proposals and support developers with infrastructure, performance, and availability needs.
  • Develop core platform components such as logging or authorization when needed.
  • Evaluate, validate, and remain accountable for AI-assisted changes delivered to production.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of production experience operating Kubernetes, including 24/7 production environments.
  • At least 5 years of experience with public cloud platforms; GCP is preferred, with AWS or Azure accepted.
  • Experience making design trade-offs between cloud-managed and self-hosted solutions.
  • Ability to read, review, validate, and develop Python or Go code and custom tooling.
  • Experience designing infrastructure specifications and leading cross-team projects without direct reporting authority.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes configuration experience, including security contexts, network policies, RBAC, affinity, disruption budgets, priority classes, and node taints.
  • Experience optimizing cluster resource usage through requests and limits, HPAs, or VPAs.
  • Deep cluster-management knowledge, including node pools, autoscaling, enabled features, and zero-downtime Kubernetes upgrades.
  • Experience writing Terraform modules with multiple interconnected resources and using GitLab, Ansible, Docker, and CI/CD tooling.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting; Grafana, Prometheus, and on-call experience are preferred.

  • Base salary range of 1,520,000–1,900,000 CZK.
