Description

Design sustainable infrastructure, microservice solutions, and robust production environments with engineering teams.
Operate and maintain core Google Cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, databases, and cloud services.
Automate infrastructure and operational tools to reduce manual work.
Own maintenance and project work from specification through production deployment.
Monitor applications, configure alerts, and participate in an on-call rotation as required.
Review design proposals and validate application performance and availability.
Support developers with infrastructure needs and DevOps practices.
Develop core platform components such as logging or authorization when needed.

Requirements

At least 3 years of production experience operating Kubernetes clusters in a 24/7 environment.
Experience with GCP preferred, or AWS/Azure, including public-cloud trade-offs and managed versus self-hosted solutions.
Understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and experience with Terraform, including building modules with interconnected resources.
Ability to read, review, verify, and develop Python or Go code and AI-assisted tooling.
Hands-on Kubernetes configuration experience, including security contexts, network policies, RBAC, affinity, disruption budgets, priority classes, and node taints.
Experience optimizing cluster resource usage through requests and limits, HPAs, or VPAs.
Experience managing node pools, autoscaling, cluster features, and non-disruptive Kubernetes upgrades.
Experience with monitoring and alerting; Grafana, Prometheus, and on-call experience are preferred.
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools, including GitLab, Ansible, and Docker.
Ability to independently deliver projects, validate AI-generated work, stay current on Kubernetes technologies, and onboard or train teammates.

Benefits

Base salary range of €1,300,000–€1,630,000, depending on relevant factors.
Remote-first work with flexible working hours and access to offices in Bratislava, Brno, or Prague.
Restricted Stock Units or stock options and a company performance bonus, subject to role and location.
Annual $1,500 professional education budget.
Five paid volunteer days.
