Description

  • Provide frontline IT support to BCI volunteers for software, hardware, and general computer system issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents using diagnostic tests and remote access tools.
  • Monitor service performance and ensure support commitments are met.
  • Carry out regular checks and maintenance tasks across user accounts and systems.
  • Set up new user accounts and profiles and resolve password-related issues.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation, including support knowledge base articles.
  • Build simple solutions using standard tools such as Office 365 or G-Suite.
  • Track Microsoft and G-Suite updates and advise volunteers on new features and changes.
  • Identify when support requests should be treated as project requirements and produce technical specifications.
  • Support testing of new products and keep informed about information security issues.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience administering Office 365 and G-Suite.
  • Website maintenance and basic design skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, logical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to assess users’ IT knowledge levels and communicate solutions clearly and professionally.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships and work across professional and operational boundaries.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and follow up until issues are fully resolved.
  • Strong computer skills with familiarity in both PC and Mac hardware and software.
  • Experience with network repairs and analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A good degree in business information technology, business systems engineering, computer networking and hardware, computer science, computer software development, information technology, internet engineering, or software engineering (additional IT practitioner qualifications are beneficial).
  • Relevant experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Experience working independently and in teams, using initiative to drive projects forward.
