Description

  • Collect field data to support project completion across ALTA, boundary, construction staking, and topographic surveys.
  • Locate boundaries, pins, improvements, utilities, and other site features during field work.
  • Check and reduce raw field data, perform calculations, and download and file survey data.
  • Conduct project research as needed to support survey work.
  • Follow instructions and work orders from project managers.
  • Communicate daily with the Field Project Manager about schedule status and project progress.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with schedules and budgets.
  • Maintain survey equipment and troubleshoot field issues.
  • Travel regionally and nationally, work outdoors in difficult conditions, and support overtime or weekend work as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.
  • Strong understanding of surveying concepts and practices.
  • Proficiency with survey equipment including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Focus on delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Part 107 license preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, especially Carlson AutoCAD, is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to safely traverse rugged terrain and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, including up to 100 pounds occasionally.
