Description

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of software and QA automation developers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, psychological safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and team growth in partnership with leadership and People Operations.
  • Identify skill gaps and create development plans to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Own delivery outcomes for the team, ensuring commitments are met with high quality and predictable timelines.
  • Translate architecture and design into clear technical execution plans.
  • Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term platform and architectural health.
  • Manage scope, risk, dependencies, and tradeoffs across initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight without becoming a bottleneck.
  • Ensure best practices in software design, code quality, testing, security, and reliability.
  • Partner with architects and senior/staff developers on system design and technical strategy.
  • Champion agile practices and continuous delivery.
  • Improve engineering processes, tooling, and metrics to increase team efficiency and transparency.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing or leading software development and/or QA automation teams.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices.
  • Experience delivering production systems in a cloud or distributed environment.
  • Proven ability to coach developers and manage performance constructively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid approaches (preferred).
  • Experience improving engineering processes, tooling, and delivery metrics (preferred).
