Description

  • Test game software for functionality, reliability, performance, playability, and fun factor.
  • Report bugs and defects in an online database with complete, clear information.
  • Track game stability and performance across assigned game areas.
  • Create, run, and schedule test scripts as part of overall test planning.
  • Contribute to the QA department’s development in addition to project-specific testing.
  • Communicate status, concerns, and risks to internal and external production and development teams.
  • Perform risk analysis and escalate issues to QA management when necessary.
  • Work embedded with the development team alongside functionality testing.
  • Participate in reviews of requirements and designs and raise concerns or risks to stakeholders.
  • Provide daily status updates and trend reporting to QA leadership, production, and development teams.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a Quality Assurance role.
  • Experience with at least one shipped product.
  • Experience with QA processes and testing terminology.
  • Experience testing VR games, PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and/or PS4/PS5 titles.
  • Confident use of business tools such as email, spreadsheets, and word processors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across multiple audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly functional cross-discipline team.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside within Canada.
  • Familiarity with 3D packages or video game engines is a plus.
  • Certification and guideline experience across multiple platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with database software such as Jira is a plus.
  • Knowledge of network multiplayer systems, embedded QA methodologies, and test automation is a plus.
  • Experience working with and/or playing RPG games is a plus.
  • Experience working from home and communicating remotely is a plus.

Benefits

  • Remote-first workplace with flexible work arrangements.
  • 12-month temporary full-time contract.
  • Salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 per year.
