Description

  • Analyze user performance needs and translate them into actionable, testable IT system requirements documents.
  • Develop comprehensive test scripts to assess system performance against defined requirements.
  • Execute or support performance testing across unit, integration, system, UAT, and regression phases.
  • Evaluate performance reports and testing results and document findings in formal test reports.
  • Trace test results to requirements and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify performance deficiencies, document defect reports, and coordinate resolution with development teams.
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices to ensure full coverage across the testing lifecycle.
  • Participate in requirements reviews, test readiness reviews, and post-testing retrospectives.
  • Support development and maintenance of performance measurement frameworks aligned with program KPIs and success criteria.
  • Prepare and deliver status briefings, technical reports, and presentations on testing progress and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in performance analysis, system testing, or IT requirements analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing user performance needs and developing testable IT system requirements.
  • Proficiency in creating test scripts, test plans, and test procedures for complex IT systems.
  • Experience conducting system performance evaluations across multiple testing phases and documenting results in formal test reports.
  • Ability to trace test results to system requirements and present findings in both oral and written formats.
  • Familiarity with requirements management and test management tools such as JIRA, HP ALM/Quality Center, or Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and their testing implications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop formal reports and present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with the Veterans Health Administration or a similar federal health agency such as CDC, CMS, DHA, or HHS is preferred.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one is preferred.
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level or higher is preferred.
  • Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with VA system testing environments, VistA testing protocols, or VA EHRM performance test activities is preferred.
  • Experience in Agile or SAFe testing roles, including sprint testing, regression, and continuous integration pipelines is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal security testing requirements, including FISMA assessment and authorization testing processes, is preferred.
  • Experience with load/stress testing tools such as Apache JMeter or LoadRunner and performance benchmarking in healthcare IT environments is preferred.
