Description

Create immersive animations for characters, creatures, weapons, and props that match the project’s visual and gameplay style.
Implement animation states and events using tools in the studio’s proprietary game engine.
Collaborate with tech art to create new rigs and solve animation production issues.
Own the animation pipeline from animation set creation through in-engine implementation.
Communicate progress and updates in a timely manner while working cross-discipline with minimal supervision.
Find creative ways to maximize reuse of existing animations.
Work with art leadership and other teams to ensure animations are optimized for performance and enhance player experience.

Requirements

4 years of proven experience animating for games.
Strong experience with 3D software such as Maya or 3ds Max.
Experience using animation state machine tools.
Solid understanding of timing, physics, and human and creature skeleton anatomy.
Proficiency in game animation optimization techniques.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
AAA game experience is a plus.
Familiarity with game-ready skeleton design, skinning, and animation scene structure is a plus.
Basic understanding of rigging and rigging tools is a plus.
Experience animating in-engine cameras is a plus.
Passion for sci-fi games or related media is a plus.
Experience working on existing IP and its assets is a plus.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside within Canada.

Benefits

Remote-first workplace with flexible work arrangements.
Temporary full-time contract opportunity.
Salary range of $70,000 to $85,000 per year.
