Description

  • Research and develop state estimation and navigation algorithms for resilient autonomy in challenging GPS-denied environments.
  • Design and deploy production-grade C++ software for embedded robotic systems.
  • Build and maintain unit, integration, and system-level tests for system robustness and safety.
  • Develop modeling, calibration, and simulation tools for inertial and vision-based navigation systems.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning, feature decomposition, and agile execution with multidisciplinary autonomy engineers.
  • Improve performance analysis, benchmarking, and validation pipelines for navigation systems.

Requirements

  • M.S. in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, computer science, or a related field, plus 2+ years of related professional experience; or 0 years of experience for new Ph.D. graduates.
  • Professional proficiency in modern C++11 or newer and strong object-oriented design skills.
  • Experience deploying low-latency C++ applications to embedded Linux platforms.
  • Experience designing and implementing state estimation algorithms such as EKF, UKF, particle filters, or graph-based optimization.
  • Familiarity with VIO, SLAM, or multi-sensor fusion frameworks such as GTSAM, Ceres, or OpenVINS.
  • Strong knowledge of CI pipelines and automated C++ testing frameworks.
  • Ability to independently deploy high-reliability code for real-world autonomous systems.
  • Python or MATLAB prototyping experience is welcome, but professional C++ production deployment is required.
  • Preferred: experience with graph-based optimization, VINS/VIO, terrain-relative navigation, navigation sensor calibration, benchmarking, or real-world system validation.
