Description

  • Own ambiguous customer problems from framing through production delivery and measurable customer outcomes.
  • Develop domain expertise in customer operations, including routes, crews, and service histories.
  • Build required datasets, features, and pipelines using Snowflake and dbt.
  • Determine when ML is appropriate and integrate solutions into product workflows with Product Managers and Software Engineers.
  • Design customer-facing prediction experiences that are understandable, trustworthy, and actionable.
  • Define and track offline and online evaluation for model quality, reliability, and drift.
  • Design A/B tests or causal analyses to validate improvements in customer outcomes.
  • Deploy, test, version, monitor, and maintain production models.
  • Report model adoption, outcomes, and ROI to Product and business stakeholders.
  • Use coding agents effectively by setting direction, validating output, and creating tests and evaluation scaffolding.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in applied data science, ML engineering, or data engineering with ownership of production models.
  • Experience building and shipping at least one model into a real product.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with tabular ML libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, statsmodels, or Prophet.
  • Strong SQL expertise.
  • Experience with supervised learning, forecasting, ranking, recommendation, or optimisation.
  • Experience modelling messy operational data rather than benchmark datasets.
  • Experience with dbt, Snowflake, feature pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and drift detection; AWS experience is relevant.
  • Ability to quantify business impact, including adoption, outcomes, or ROI, and communicate it to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly.
  • Must be UK-based and currently have the legal right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • B2B SaaS experience, decision intelligence or operational intelligence experience, senior/lead experience, coding-agent experience, and productized LLM or agentic AI experience are preferred.
