Description

  • Drive the development and implementation of group legal strategy aligned with the company’s broader business strategy.
  • Provide proactive, business-focused legal advice and execution on corporate matters.
  • Manage legal responses to corporate and internal stakeholder issues, including external communications and negotiations.
  • Lead and support transactional, reorganisation, and corporate governance initiatives.
  • Assist with M&A, majority and minority investments, joint ventures, and global restructurings.
  • Draft and review legal documents and provide holistic risk assessments to support business value and reduce downside risk.
  • Partner with cross-functional and regional teams on legal matters of varying complexity and sensitivity.
  • Train and advise non-legal colleagues to improve legal awareness and risk management.
  • Monitor legal developments and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current laws.
  • Promote consistency of legal approach across internal stakeholders and help implement practical solutions to business issues.

Requirements

  • Qualified to practice law in a leading jurisdiction with significant corporate legal experience.
  • Typically 8+ years of post-qualification experience at a top law firm and/or in-house at a well-established corporate or high-growth company.
  • Ideally trained in a reputable law firm in a corporate practice with a focus on transactional work and general corporate governance.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects across multiple jurisdictions globally.
  • Strong legal technical expertise combined with excellent business acumen and people skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced in-house environment.
  • Strong team player with good business sense and the ability to work independently on complex projects.
  • Ability to develop and execute creative solutions to meet evolving business needs.
  • Excellent legal drafting and interpretation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills.
