Description

  • Own the experience layer for a customer journey or product surface end-to-end across the Babylist ecosystem.
  • Design and build intuitive, high-quality experiences that solve user problems and support business outcomes.
  • Run generative and evaluative research and use customer feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Create rapid interactive prototypes and contribute production frontend code to refine shipped experiences.
  • Contribute to and evolve the design system by building reusable components and interaction patterns.
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, analysts, and other designers to move high-impact work forward.
  • Instrument designs, track metrics, and make iterate, pivot, or stop decisions based on evidence.
  • Improve transitions, micro-interactions, loading states, empty states, error states, and keyboard behavior in the codebase.
  • Support AI-enabled workflows and help non-designers contribute meaningfully to the experience layer.
  • Teach and model strong design standards while balancing speed, learning, and quality.

Requirements

  • Portfolio of shipped consumer product work across web and native mobile.
  • Experience planning and running generative and evaluative user research.
  • Ability to move from concept to interactive prototype in hours, not weeks.
  • Ability to write production frontend code and work directly in the codebase.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to design across flows, products, and design systems.
  • Comfort working with AI tools and AI-native workflows every day.
  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative evidence to guide design decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain design rationale persuasively.
  • Adaptable, low-ego, and comfortable working across team boundaries.
  • Experience with AI-enabled design or building work from prototype to production is preferred.
