Description

  • Conduct research, screening, desktop review, background checks, and risk analysis on corporate entities and individuals.
  • Search global databases for sanctions, watchlists, PEPs, adverse media, and source of wealth information.
  • Interpret screening results to assess regulatory compliance and identify potential risks and red flags.
  • Produce clear risk summaries and scorecards with key findings and recommendations for further action.
  • Serve as the point of contact for client queries and manage compliance processes end to end and to deadlines.
  • Work with Avantia lawyers and analysts to review the work of junior team members.
  • Assist with training junior colleagues when required.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth and support future LegalTech-related work as opportunities arise.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience conducting desktop review and related research at a business risk provider or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a 2.1 classification or above.
  • Experience working with asset management, investment banking, or other financial services clients is highly desirable.
  • Ability to analyze data and information to identify potential risks.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a solutions-first approach and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to strict turnaround times and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with screening tools such as Dow Jones or World-Check is valuable but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
