Description

  • Lead writing and serve as the primary client contact for assigned accounts.
  • Develop and edit scientific content, including congress materials, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and plain-language summaries.
  • Coordinate with editorial, client, vendor, and project teams to deliver work on time and within budget.
  • Brief, review, mentor, and provide direction to less experienced writers.
  • Provide scientific oversight for large or complex projects and workstreams.
  • Drive project delivery and champion internal, external, compliance, and quality processes.
  • Support business development by developing concepts and strategies for medical communications and publication opportunities.
  • Represent Avalere Health at client meetings, advisory boards, speaker-training meetings, and business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree in life sciences; PharmD or PhD preferred.
  • 3+ years of medical or scientific writing experience within a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency preferred.
  • Experience developing scientific content across multiple therapeutic areas; Oncology experience preferred.
  • Experience managing publications and reviewing scientific content for accuracy, clarity, and flow.
  • Demonstrated project ownership, problem-solving, and proactive collaboration skills.
  • Strong client communication skills and experience serving as a reliable contact for clients and external experts.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior writers.
  • Experience managing client relationships and key account contacts.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines for medical communications.
