Description

  • Serve as lead writer and primary client contact for assigned accounts.
  • Develop and oversee scientific content for Oncology-focused medical communications programs.
  • Coordinate with editorial, client, vendor, and project teams to deliver work on time and within budget.
  • Brief, review, guide, and mentor less experienced writers.
  • Provide scientific oversight for complex projects and workstreams.
  • Drive project delivery and champion internal, external, compliance, and editorial processes.
  • Support business development by conceptualizing and strategizing new medical communications and publication projects.
  • Represent Avalere Health at client meetings, advisory boards, speaker-training meetings, and business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree in life sciences; PharmD or PhD highly preferred.
  • 4+ years of medical or scientific writing experience, preferably in a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency.
  • Essential experience developing scientific content for Oncology-focused accounts.
  • Experience managing varied scientific content types, including high-volume publications.
  • Ability to review content for scientific accuracy, clarity, and flow.
  • Demonstrated project ownership, problem-solving, proactive communication, and collaborative teamwork.
  • Strong client communication and relationship-management skills.
  • Experience serving as a key contact for clients and external experts.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior writers.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines for medical communications.
