Description

  • Prepare affirmative and defensive Form I-589 asylum applications, client declarations, and supporting filing packets.
  • Draft, prepare, and file Immigration Court pleadings and procedural motions, including EOIR filings.
  • Prepare immigration benefit applications such as Employment Authorization, Cancellation of Removal, Adjustment of Status, and TPS.
  • Assemble hearing packets, exhibit binders, and submission packages for Immigration Court and USCIS.
  • Calendar and track hearings, biometrics, filing deadlines, and attorney task items.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and client files in the firm's case management system.
  • Communicate professionally with clients in English and Spanish about document collection, case updates, and hearing preparation.
  • Coordinate certified translations, review client evidence, and collaborate with attorneys to ensure timely, accurate filings.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an immigration legal assistant or paralegal with direct exposure to asylum cases and immigration court filings.
  • Hands-on experience preparing Form I-589 in both affirmative and defensive cases.
  • Experience drafting Immigration Court pleadings and motions.
  • Solid knowledge of EOIR Practice Manual requirements and USCIS filing procedures.
  • Professional bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and little onboarding time.
  • Experience with removal proceedings and relief applications, including Cancellation of Removal, TPS, and Adjustment of Status.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
  • Experience coordinating certified translations and managing evidentiary documentation.
  • Familiarity with immigration case management software, such as MyCase, Clio, or similar.
  • LATAM-based candidates with U.S. immigration law experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
