Description

  • Maintain complete and accurate digital personnel files, including contracts, amendments, compensation changes, and statutory documents.
  • Prepare and validate monthly payroll inputs such as overtime, unpaid leave, bonuses, commissions, and allowances.
  • Reconcile payroll data against attendance records, leave logs, and approved employee changes.
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and record maintenance.
  • Partner with finance and bookkeeping teams to ensure payroll accuracy and timely processing.
  • Manage onboarding logistics, including employee setup, documentation, payroll enrollment, and benefits enrollment.
  • Coordinate offboarding activities, including final payroll inputs, benefits cessation, and access revocation.
  • Monitor attendance logs and leave balances, and process leave requests according to company policy and payroll cutoffs.
  • Track visas, certifications, benefits eligibility, payroll-related compliance documents, and policy acknowledgments.
  • Maintain HR and payroll trackers, produce regular reports, audit HRIS data, and troubleshoot basic system issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in HR administration or HR Generalist support with significant payroll and benefits exposure.
  • Practical experience supporting payroll, reconciliations, or financial record-keeping.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong ability to spot discrepancies in payroll data, contracts, or spreadsheets.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive employee and financial information with discretion and integrity.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms such as Rippling, BambooHR, Gusto, or similar systems.
  • Advanced Google Sheets or Excel skills, including formulas, reconciliation, and data validation.
  • Excellent written English for payroll documentation, benefits communications, and formal HR correspondence.
  • Comfort working at the intersection of HR and finance.
  • Systems-first mindset and ability to keep records audit-ready.
  • Availability for a remote role based in South Africa.
