Description

  • Build secure, high-scale cloud applications using Go, Node.js, and other modern languages.
  • Collaborate with a squad of engineers to own and deliver one of the company’s product sets.
  • Help ensure system reliability and availability, including participating in an on-call rotation.
  • Conceptualize and deliver software solutions with support from Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers.
  • Work primarily on building solutions and shipping product rather than spending time in meetings.
  • Develop applications and services using RESTful APIs, microservices, cloud technologies, and databases.
  • Use modern tooling, including AI-assisted development tools, to increase delivery speed and reduce toil.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience in Go, C#, or Java in a fast-paced environment.
  • 4+ years of experience building and scaling a revenue-generating product.
  • 2+ years of experience running production applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience building for cloud scale and securing internet-facing applications with high-value data.
  • Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with relational and document databases such as Postgres, SQL Server, and MongoDB.
  • A forward-looking approach to using Generative AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and custom LLM agents.
  • Fully remote, with preference for candidates located in Chicago, IL.
  • This role begins as a contract position with a 180-day probationary period before conversion to full time.
