Description

  • Serve as Aretum’s primary representative to VA leadership, COR, program offices, clinicians, and technical teams.
  • Oversee all program phases including pilot, enterprise rollout, full capability deployment, and any option periods.
  • Coordinate across Aretum and subcontractors to ensure unified delivery and contractor alignment.
  • Lead cloud architecture and secure hosting efforts, including ATO compliance and cloud modernization reviews.
  • Oversee architecture review processes to ensure solutions meet VA enterprise standards and cloud governance frameworks.
  • Manage multi-million-dollar program operations including schedule, resourcing, risk management, budget oversight, KPI tracking, and contract deliverables.
  • Lead integration activities between the polypharmacy software and VA systems, cloud environments, and data platforms.
  • Direct testing, validation, performance improvement, and evaluation against pilot success criteria defined in the QASP.
  • Drive organizational change management, communications, training coordination, and adoption activities to align with VA clinical operations and Veteran-facing experiences.
  • Define staffing needs, develop role descriptions, oversee interviewing and onboarding, and lead matrixed teams of cloud engineers, security SMEs, analysts, architects, and clinical-technical staff.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience in architecture, engineering, and program leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of cloud architecture experience with at least 3 years focused on AWS.
  • Proven track record leading Federal systems through the complete RMF process to ATO (non-negotiable).
  • 5+ years leading technical programs, preferably in federal or other highly regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience with container platforms in production (ECS, OpenShift, or Kubernetes) and Docker.
  • Direct experience implementing NIST 800-53 security controls in cloud environments and working with RMF methodology.
  • Experience with AWS services including VPC, ECS, EC2, ALB/NLB, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and KMS.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation and monitoring platforms like Splunk, Dynatrace, or DataDog.
  • Background in cybersecurity and risk management, including vulnerability management, threat modeling, and the ability to evaluate business impact and prioritize risk.
  • Preferred: experience supporting clinical decision support/medication safety or polypharmacy programs, prior leadership on Veteran-facing enterprise applications, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (highly desired), and CISSP or equivalent security certification (highly desired).
