Description

  • Own the turbogenerator system and overall turboshaft subsystem direction.
  • Manage the turbogenerator team, including specialists in fuel, turbine design, exhaust, and thermal systems.
  • Ensure the turboshaft can be integrated, tested, and certified within the aircraft.
  • Optimize the turboshaft design for the integrated unit.
  • Manage technical, certification, program, and other risks to support successful delivery.
  • Direct testing, verification, and certification programs for the turbogenerator system.
  • Define turboshaft subsystem and integration challenges for mechanical engineers, systems engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Define the strategy for turboshaft and turbogenerator development and the broader hybrid-powertrain strategy.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in a related scientific or engineering field.
  • 10+ years of experience in turboshaft design and engine control.
  • Strong fundamentals and demonstrated understanding of turboshaft operation.
  • Experience with industry-standard tools, methods, and processes.
  • Experience applying Part-33 / CS-E in novel systems programs.
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining rigor.
  • Systematic problem-solving ability and the ability to communicate complex technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing comprehensive technical reports and documents.
  • Prior experience with hybrid-electric aircraft, eVTOLs, or hybrid automotive powertrains (preferred).
  • Familiarity with FAA or EASA certification of electric powertrains and propulsion systems (preferred).
  • Knowledge of simulation model validation, model calibration, and uncertainty quantification methods (preferred).

  • Base pay range of $207,000 to $259,000.
