Description

  • Own and maintain the perception and navigation software roadmap, including scope, sequencing, and feature priorities.
  • Drive the technical definition of the perception stack and translate sensor inputs into scene understanding and world state.
  • Define evaluation metrics, field-testing regimes, and release criteria for perception and navigation performance.
  • Own requirements for perception data pipelines, including collection, labeling, and feedback from field deployments.
  • Lead product requirements for safe perception, including failure modes, validation coverage, and autonomy risk.
  • Co-design for edge deployment constraints, latency, and on-robot performance with sensing and compute teams.
  • Define and prioritize use cases based on business impact, feasibility, and customer needs.
  • Synthesize input from user research, customer meetings, usage data, and sales feedback into product strategy.
  • Work with industrial design, UX, and engineering teams to concept and implement interactive features.
  • Communicate product requirements to engineering through written documents, diagrams, and verbal communication.
  • Support product marketing, partner relationships, and adoption initiatives.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of product management experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in a relevant domain.
  • Strong experience in perception and navigation fundamentals, including detection, tracking, localization, mapping, and obstacle avoidance.
  • Demonstrated experience defining evaluation metrics, field-testing regimes, and performance tracking for autonomy or perception software.
  • Field deployment experience taking perception or autonomy software from the lab into reliable real-world operation.
  • Practical safety judgment around failure modes, validation coverage, and autonomy risks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in uncertainty and prioritize velocity over perfection.
  • Ability to prioritize user feedback and advocate for it internally.
  • Experience with autonomous robots or autonomous vehicles (preferred).
  • Experience with perception or autonomy evaluation frameworks and large-scale field-test data analysis (preferred).
  • Experience generating or using synthetic and simulation-generated data for perception (preferred).
  • Experience with data collection operations, including teleoperation fleets, annotation, and curation pipelines (preferred).
  • Experience working with customers in light and heavy duty industrial environments (preferred).
  • Experience with robotics and functional safety standards, including ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, ISO 13482, and RIA 15.08 (preferred).
