Description

  • Build, lead, hire, coach, and develop the hardware product management team.
  • Own the hardware product vision and strategy across robots, peripherals, and components.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to develop and maintain the hardware roadmap, including scope, sequencing, and priorities.
  • Establish roadmap governance, prioritization frameworks, and metrics discipline across the team.
  • Drive total cost of ownership strategy by balancing COGS, reliability, serviceability, and maintenance costs.
  • Define and track portfolio-level product and program health metrics and present hardware status in executive reviews.
  • Lead the full new product introduction lifecycle from prototype through mass production, including gate criteria and go/no-go decisions.
  • Own sustaining, continuous improvement, field issue resolution, spares, and end-of-life planning for deployed products.
  • Lead make-versus-buy decisions across systems and components.
  • Work with vendors, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal manufacturing teams on requirements, feasibility, cost, quality, and supply.
  • Align with software product leadership to ensure hardware and software systems are defined, sequenced, and integrated coherently.
  • Partner with safety, quality, and compliance teams to address standards, failure modes, and field risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, systems, robotics engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in product management or engineering.
  • 5+ years leading product managers.
  • Proven track record of shipping complex hardware products.
  • Deep hardware product and NPI fluency, including design for manufacturability, reliability and validation, and cost/BOM management.
  • Experience with autonomous robots or similar complex electromechanical systems.
  • Experience working with vendors, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal manufacturing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with metrics discipline and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
  • Physical ability to work on lab and manufacturing floors, travel to supplier and manufacturing sites, and lift up to 15 pounds.
