Description

Lead designers and report directly to the VP of Product Management.
Set and uphold the craft standard for design critique, research review, prototyping, interaction quality, and accessibility.
Coach the team in Jobs to be Done methods and translate research findings into job stories the team can use.
Define interaction patterns, principles, guardrails, and evaluation methods for AI-driven UX.
Build a reusable pattern library for AI capabilities and help teams test whether patterns work.
Strengthen the relationship with Engineering and Product through clear handoff standards, technical documentation, and trade-off decisions.
Define research standards, methods, and tooling, with attention to sampling, bias, and methodological limits.
Own Design Operations and Research Operations, including tooling, templates, participant recruitment, and scalable processes.
Help steer the design system strategy with Engineering so consistency is easier to achieve.
Hire, onboard, evaluate, and grow the UX team while extending the UX career framework.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of substantial UX experience with depth in both user research and product design.
At least 5 years of direct management experience with designers and/or researchers.
Hands-on Jobs to be Done experience, including switch interviews and job story creation.
Hands-on experience designing or leading AI- or ML-powered features.
Deep command of research methods, including interviewing, surveys, testing, ethnographic work, and mixed-method study design.
Strong design craft in information architecture, interaction design, and prototyping.
Experience defining outcome-based UX metrics and using them to influence a roadmap.
Real fluency with design-engineering handoff in an Agile environment.
Comfort working in ambiguous, cross-functional problems that require investigation.
B2B or enterprise SaaS experience, ideally with developer- or IT-adjacent products.
Experience in the Atlassian ecosystem or a comparable platform ecosystem (preferred).
Experience scaling a design system or research repository from scratch (preferred).
Experience building or rewriting a UX career framework and levelling criteria (preferred).
Background contributing to an accessibility conformance program (preferred).
