Description

Lead the UX team and report directly to the VP of Product Management.
Set and maintain the craft bar for design quality, prototyping, interaction design, and accessibility.
Run design critique and research review processes.
Coach the team on Jobs to be Done methods and translate findings into job stories for delivery teams.
Define UX principles, guardrails, and pattern libraries for AI-driven experiences.
Partner with Engineering and Product on handoff standards, technical documentation, and trade-off decisions.
Define research standards, methods, and tooling, and strengthen research rigor across the discipline.
Set direction for design operations, research operations, participant recruitment, and supporting templates and processes.
Shape the design system strategy with Engineering to improve consistency across products.
Own hiring, onboarding, performance, growth, and the UX career framework.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of substantial UX experience with depth in both user research and product design.
At least 5 years of direct people management experience with examples of developing designers and/or researchers.
Hands-on Jobs to be Done experience, including switch interviews and converting outputs into job stories.
Experience designing or leading design for AI- or ML-powered features.
Deep research methodology knowledge, including unbiased interviewing, surveys, concept testing, usability testing, ethnographic work, and mixed-method study design.
Strong design craft in information architecture, interaction design, and prototyping.
Experience defining outcome-based UX metrics and using them to influence a roadmap.
Strong understanding of design and engineering handoff in an Agile environment.
Comfort working in ambiguous, cross-functional, multi-team problems.
B2B or enterprise SaaS experience, ideally with developer- or IT-adjacent products.
Preferred: experience in the Atlassian ecosystem or a comparable platform ecosystem.
Preferred: experience scaling a design system or research repository from scratch.
Preferred: experience building or rewriting a UX career framework and leveling criteria.
Preferred: background contributing to an accessibility conformance program.
