Description

  • Own, plan, and execute full system-level test and evaluation of hardware and software to accelerate design maturation.
  • Conduct shore-based and sea-based testing, including lab, range, and field test events.
  • Assist with integration of sensors, communications systems, autonomy software, and other subsystems into a complete underwater sensor product.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Field Operations team, including test authority, task assignment, and event scheduling.
  • Implement and maintain test documentation across the full development and test cycle.
  • Work with program management and engineering leads to define requirements, schedules, gates, milestones, and improvement areas.
  • Collaborate with external partners or customers during integration and test and support payload integration into the system mission lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews, requirements analysis, test objectives, and system verification planning.
  • Lead a team conducting shore and sea-based testing at private and government-owned test ranges.
  • Oversee test data collection and perform initial data analysis for the system under test.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent engineering experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration, and testing.
  • 4+ years of experience as a lead test conductor/test director for developmental systems on manned and/or unmanned sea-craft.
  • Experience with requirements development, test planning and execution, and test reporting.
  • Ability to quickly understand new concepts, organize work phases, coordinate tasks, and solve complex problems.
  • Strong understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory.
  • Working knowledge of maritime operating rules and regulations.
  • Strong computer and documentation skills, including Linux, command-line interfaces, and software debugging.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, travel as required, and work extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to immediately obtain a U.S. Top Secret-level security clearance.
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • Experience building software scripts or code in Go, Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of COTs small autonomous systems, autopilot, and mission planning software (preferred).
  • Experience with MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, AS8775, AS5653, or similar standards (preferred).
  • Experience working with maritime personnel and familiarity with maritime terminology (preferred).
  • Experience with tactical datalinks (preferred).
  • Experience with multiple propulsion systems, including air and non-air breathing (preferred).
