Description

  • Lead and mentor a team of test engineers and support their technical growth.
  • Plan, execute, and coordinate complex test efforts, including task delegation and resource management.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and cross-functional teams to validate new software, end-to-end functionality, and bug fixes.
  • Conduct software and surrogate platform testing, including validation and regression testing.
  • Analyze test data to assess system performance and identify improvement areas.
  • Create and improve testing processes for system functionality using HITL and COTS UAS platforms.
  • Advance testing methodologies for Group 2 UAS to support reliable performance in operational scenarios.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the Test and Evaluation team and advocate for better tools and methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience in robotics or autonomous systems testing.
  • 6+ years of experience in software/hardware testing, with emphasis on autonomous or remotely piloted systems.
  • 2+ years in a lead or mentoring role for technical teams, or significant project leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute test plans for complex systems within aggressive timelines.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel up to 25% to various testing locations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret-Level security clearance.
  • Experience in development, flight testing, and deployment of unmanned systems in defense or aerospace contexts (preferred).
  • Familiarity with software development practices and programming languages used in autonomy and robotics, such as Python, C++, or Rust (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware integration in HITL and flight test environments (preferred).
