Description

  • Lead test and evaluation programs for individual development projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate, plan, and execute test events for mission autonomy capabilities using surrogate vehicles.
  • Design and implement test plans for autonomous systems across simulated mission profiles.
  • Analyze test data to validate system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers to define test requirements and align on mission objectives.
  • Drive end-to-end test management, including requirements shaping, test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with private and government partners to test and evaluate systems and software.
  • Communicate results and technical issues clearly to government leaders, internal leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop into a leader capable of managing multiple test projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related technical field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience in autonomous systems testing.
  • Minimum 3 years of in-depth test and evaluation experience, preferably with autonomous systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute test plans for complex systems within aggressive timelines.
  • Proven experience coordinating and executing complex test events.
  • Experience developing metrics and performance dashboards.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve milestones and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical challenges and solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to engage and communicate with military and government customers.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to various testing locations as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret-level security clearance.
  • Direct experience in the development, testing, and deployment of mission autonomy systems in a defense or aerospace context, preferred.
  • Familiarity with FAA, FCC, and other relevant regulations, preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation environments and tools used for testing autonomous systems, preferred.
  • Familiarity with software development practices and programming languages used in autonomy and robotics, such as Python, C++, and ROS, preferred.
  • Prior experience mentoring junior team members, preferred.
  • Knowledge of current industry and military standards related to unmanned aerial systems and operation within national airspace, preferred.
