Description

  • Own customer success by defining and delivering a multi-year, multi-stakeholder software roadmap spanning multiple teams.
  • Leverage and coordinate internal product and program engineering teams to rapidly deliver new capabilities with clear architectural and capability evolution paths.
  • Partner with external teams to define and manage interfacing requirements between diverse systems and technologies.
  • Lead teams to architect, design, and implement trusted safety-critical Vehicle Management Systems that balance constraints and stakeholder requirements.
  • Contribute to and shape the company-wide roadmap for software inputs to autonomous systems.
  • Architect, design, and implement scalable vehicle subsystems including sensor processing, state estimation, contingency management, actuation, payload interfaces, and mission interfaces.
  • Drive development of real-time embedded software on an RTOS and develop device drivers and interfaces to a variety of sensors and actuators.
  • Design and implement development processes for initial delivery and iterative improvement, including full lifecycle testing and creation of software- and hardware-in-the-loop test/simulation fixtures.
  • Support vehicle manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment activities.
  • Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary engineering teams, including mentoring Senior Software Engineers and traveling to co-locate with end-users/teams up to 20% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a leadership position within a high-performing technology organization.
  • Proficiency in writing C.
  • Experience developing real-time embedded software on an RTOS.
  • Familiarity with communications buses and protocols (examples: CAN, CANFD, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI, QSPI, I2C, Ethernet, ARINC-825/ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553).
  • Systems programming skills including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization.
  • Capacity to act as the technical owner for an entire software system—stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment and evolution.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred: experience designing and developing embedded applications for autonomous vehicle software and high-assurance/safety-critical systems (e.g., DO-178, IEC 61508 or similar).
  • Preferred: experience developing sensor and actuator interfaces, troubleshooting remotely deployed software systems, working with/testing electrical and mechanical systems, and participating in product delivery lifecycle activities (manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, sustainment); familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts.
