Description

  • Own customer success by designing and delivering a multi-year, multi-stakeholder software roadmap spanning multiple teams.
  • Rapidly deliver capability by coordinating internal product and program-specific engineering teams and defining architecture evolution paths.
  • Partner with external teams to define interfacing requirements between diverse systems and technologies.
  • Lead teams that architect, design, and implement trusted, safety-critical Vehicle Management Systems across multi-stakeholder constraints.
  • Contribute to and shape the company-wide roadmap for software inputs to autonomous systems.
  • Architect, design, and implement scalable vehicle subsystems including sensor processing, state estimation, contingency management, actuation, payload interfaces, and mission interfaces.
  • Drive development of real-time embedded software on an RTOS, including device drivers and interfaces to a variety of sensors and actuators.
  • Define and implement development processes and full-lifecycle testing, including creation of software- and hardware-in-the-loop test and simulation fixtures.
  • Support vehicle manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment activities for deployed systems.
  • Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary engineering teams, represent software equities to engineering/business/sales leadership, and travel to co-locate with users or teams up to 20% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a leadership position within a high-performing technology organization.
  • Proficient in writing C and experienced with an RTOS.
  • Familiarity with communications busses and protocols (examples: CAN, CANFD, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI, QSPI, I2C, Ethernet, ARINC-825, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553).
  • Strong systems programming skills including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization.
  • Capacity to act as technical owner for an entire software system (stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment and evolution).
  • Proven ability to mentor and grow junior engineers and contribute to team cohesion and capacity.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel for co-location with end users/teams up to ~20% of the time.
  • Preferred: experience in embedded/autonomous vehicle software, high-assurance safety-critical software, sensor/actuator interfaces, remote system troubleshooting, electrical/mechanical testing, familiarity with DO-178 or IEC 61508, navigation/communications systems, product delivery lifecycle, and Systems Engineering concepts.
