Description

  • Own the design, delivery, support, and evolution of vehicle autonomy across the product life cycle.
  • Lead multi-year software roadmap planning across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Drive systems analysis, sensor selection, integration, and interface definition for autonomous vehicle capabilities.
  • Architect and implement safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems.
  • Develop sensor suites, perception algorithms, planning algorithms, and test fixtures for autonomous vehicles.
  • Perform hands-on architecture and implementation work across the perception and planning stack.
  • Apply computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning techniques to improve perception and planning.
  • Conduct testing and validation using simulation and data analysis from real-world experiments.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure effective integration and testing.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to work with end users and other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Python software development.
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle hardware and sensors such as radar, sonar, LIDAR, and cameras.
  • Experience with at least one of the following: computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, or machine learning.
  • Experience in a senior perception or planning role delivering a robotic system.
  • Ability to act as technical owner for a system, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Ability to collaborate on robust validation and verification strategies for perception and planning modules.
  • Ability to learn, grow, and mentor junior team members effectively.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with autonomous systems in the ground, air, maritime, or space domains (preferred).
  • Experience using simulation tools such as Gazebo, Unity, or Unreal Engine for validation and testing (preferred).
  • Knowledge of safety standards and certification processes for autonomous systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts (preferred).
