Description

  • Lead full-cycle PCB design from requirements gathering and schematic design through layout supervision, bring-up, test, debug, and system integration.
  • Develop fuzing circuitry for missile systems and tailored fuzing systems and effectors.
  • Collaborate closely with vehicle development teams and other subsystem teams to design, document, and support air vehicle hardware integration.
  • Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses connecting electronic equipment within the vehicle.
  • Support sourcing efforts by conducting vendor surveys and evaluating system component suppliers.
  • Participate in peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews.
  • Build, test, and validate system components through lab, ground, and flight testing.
  • Develop low-level firmware for hardware bring-up and testing.
  • Perform root cause analysis to support field operations.
  • Work within air vehicle subsystem development constraints and support broader system development efforts.

Requirements

  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs.
  • Hands-on competence with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current probes, and test automation.
  • Familiarity with standard interfaces including Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, and USB.
  • Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, and FPGA devices and technologies.
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
  • Experience with signal integrity and power integrity design.
  • Comfortable using electronic CAD tools; Altium preferred, with Eagle or similar tools acceptable.
  • Test experience including data acquisition, data analysis, and project coordination.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel as required for testing, up to 25% during surges.
  • Preferred: Active U.S. security clearance (DoD Secret or Top Secret, or DOE L or Q).
  • Preferred: 5-10 years of individual-contributor experience in electrical design, analysis, and testing of fuzing and/or ordnance systems.
  • Preferred: Understanding of DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160, and relevant avionics design standards for UAS.
  • Preferred: Experience in UAS, missiles, or maritime programs.
  • Preferred: Experience with the DoD Weapons Safety Boards and standards such as MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-2105, JOTP-052, and JOTP-054.
  • Preferred: Experience designing and scaling production of components at volume.
  • Preferred: Experience developing or testing complex electrical systems.
  • Preferred: Experience with explosive operations and/or handling munitions.
