Description

  • Develop rapid-prototype RF solutions using a combination of COTS and custom designs.
  • Design PCB-based hardware and implement FPGA and embedded software support for HWIL and surrogate systems.
  • Integrate processor and microcontroller debuggers to extract binary data and support in-circuit probing and execution characterization.
  • Work in a laboratory environment to test, characterize, and debug complex electronic systems using equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and VNAs.
  • Prepare and execute test events for customers and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead development of lab-based acquisition and control platforms for hardware test and characterization.
  • Represent the hardware team on interdisciplinary efforts and contribute system architecture expertise.
  • Participate in proposal efforts by providing technical input, BOM/cost estimates, and schedule estimates.
  • Produce comprehensive design documentation and participate in design reviews to support quality and future design reuse.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 5 years of related experience, or an MS with 3 years of experience.
  • Proven expertise in electrical circuit design principles in at least one area: RF, analog, or digital.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to mentor junior engineering staff.
  • Experience preparing and presenting technical material to customers and internal staff.
  • Experience leading hardware efforts from concept to implementation while managing cost and schedule requirements.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance (preferred).
  • Strong RF design or implementation background with experience in system analysis and component characterization (preferred).
  • Experience in RF design and signal processing for satellite or space communications (preferred).
  • Experience in RF design and signal processing for airborne or space remote sensing (preferred).
  • Experience architecting RF hardware solutions and leading RF hardware teams in laboratory and test event environments (preferred).
  • Experience integrating software-defined radios and RFSoC platforms (preferred).
  • Experience with analog and RF circuit simulation and modeling tools such as Spice, MATLAB/Simulink, or Microwave Office (preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of processor architectures and peripherals, including experience integrating in-circuit debuggers and emulators (preferred).
  • Experience using and developing tools and test software for Linux such as Red Hat or Ubuntu (preferred).
  • Knowledge of PCB design and fabrication principles and familiarity with CAD tools such as Cadence, Altium, or Eagle (preferred).
  • Digital/FPGA HDL experience using tools such as Vivado, Quartus, or Simulink/HDL Coder (preferred).
