Description

  • Independently drive delivery of software integrated into autonomous maritime products, including autonomy, simulation, data processing, payload integration, and command and control.
  • Own software-enabled solutions deployed to customers with an emphasis on end-user value.
  • Design and implement scalable software with clear paths for architecture and capability evolution.
  • Contribute to existing software services and develop reusable components across multiple product lines.
  • Develop software that runs on both robotic platforms and off-board systems.
  • Design, implement, and improve development processes for vehicle and mission software, including testing, monitoring, and operations.
  • Create test and simulation fixtures that support software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment efforts.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team and mentor software engineers from different backgrounds.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to work with end users and partner teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive professional experience as a Software Engineer in one or more domains or technologies.
  • Strong systems or application programming skills, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software design, and system design.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
  • Ability to work across the full software stack through design, implementation, operation, and sustainment.
  • Ability to act as technical owner for a software service, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Ability to learn and grow individually while mentoring junior team members and building team cohesion.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in a senior role delivering a military mission system (preferred).
  • Experience writing backend services or embedded software in C++, Rust, and/or Go (preferred).
  • Experience writing frontend applications using TypeScript and React (preferred).
  • Experience with horizontally scaled cloud technologies (preferred).
  • Experience with embedded software, particularly in robotics (preferred).
  • Experience with modeling and simulation (preferred).
  • Experience with high-assurance safety-critical software (preferred).
  • Experience across manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment (preferred).
  • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts (preferred).
  • Interest in growing into Staff Software Engineer, Software Engineering Manager, or Tech-Lead-Manager roles (preferred).
