Description

  • Design and implement trusted, safety-critical Vehicle Management Systems in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Design and implement scalable vehicle subsystems for sensor processing, state estimation, contingency management, actuation, payload interfaces, and mission systems interfaces.
  • Contribute to the design and development of reusable software components across multiple Anduril product lines.
  • Develop real-time embedded software using an RTOS.
  • Develop device drivers and interfaces for sensors and actuators.
  • Create test and simulation fixtures that support software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment.
  • Collaborate on multidisciplinary engineering teams and mentor software engineers from different backgrounds.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to work with end users and/or other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in C.
  • Experience with an RTOS.
  • Familiarity with communication busses and protocols such as CAN, CANFD, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI, QSPI, I2C, Ethernet, ARINC-825, ARINC-429, or MIL-STD-1553.
  • Systems programming skills, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization.
  • Ability to act as technical owner for a software component, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Ability to learn and grow independently while mentoring junior team members effectively.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Negative Vetting 2 security clearance (NV2).
  • Experience designing and developing embedded applications in autonomous vehicle software systems is preferred.
  • Experience with high-assurance safety-critical software applications is preferred.
  • Experience developing interfaces to sensors and actuators is preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems is preferred.
  • Experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Experience with DO-178, IEC 61508, or similar certifications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with navigation and communications systems is preferred.
  • Experience across the product delivery lifecycle, including manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts is preferred.
  • Interest in growing into Staff Software Engineer, Software Engineering Manager, or Tech-Lead-Manager roles is preferred.
