Description

  • Design and implement safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Design and implement scalable subsystems for sensor processing, perception, tracking, motion planning, health management, anomaly detection, simulation, testing fixtures, and vehicle interfaces.
  • Develop reusable software components that can be shared across multiple Anduril product lines.
  • Apply computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning techniques to improve vehicle perception and planning capabilities.
  • Test and validate perception and planning algorithms using simulation and real-world experimental data.
  • Evolve data analysis tooling to support analysis, testing, and validation efforts.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure effective integration and testing.
  • Act as the technical owner for a system, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to work with end users or other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Python software development.
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle hardware and sensors such as radar, sonar, LIDAR, and cameras.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of at least one of the following: computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, or machine learning.
  • Experience in a senior perception or planning role delivering a robotic system.
  • Ability to own a system end to end, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Ability to collaborate on robust validation and verification strategies for perception and planning modules.
  • Ability to learn quickly, grow individually, mentor junior team members, and build team cohesion.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
  • Experience with autonomous systems in the ground, air, maritime, or space domains (preferred).
  • Experience with simulation tools such as Gazebo, Unity, or Unreal Engine for algorithm validation and testing (preferred).
  • Knowledge of safety standards and certification processes for autonomous systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts (preferred).
